The story rehashed Jerome Block Jr.’ problems with gas accredit cards
and added that Block Jr. said, “I love my job.
I love the employees here.”
COMMENT: Apparently he really loved the ones who give him their social security card numbers and gas credit cards.

Block Jr. was also the suspect in a stolen
vehicle investigation: he allegedly went for a test drive in a new car and then
never returned it, to t he consternation of the car dealer. There were whispers of impeaching him.
Two days later, front page: Block’s license lost for ignoring ticket, again by Trip
Jennings. It seems that Block Jr., age
34, ignored a three-way stop on May 17, 2010, got a ticket for carelessly
driving a 2006 Mercedes and then ignored several summons to appear in
court. Now the mere unanswered ticket
offense has retched up to a possible stolen-vehicle charge.
This allowed the paper to recount his Oxycontin
addiction, his refusal to resign, and the charges to his state gas
account. Now the story added that
impeaching the addicted chimichanga eater might cost up to $1 million. Seems a little expensive to get rid of an elected
jerk, doesn’t it? By the way, Block Jr., on a minor scale, was
beginning to sound like the young George W. Bush, who constantly screwed up,
only to be rescued by his rich and powerful daddy and dad’s friends.
